At our U-Pick Apple Farm (which is located approximately a 10-minute drive from Merrickville and the Rideau Canal), you can spend family time picking your own apples (Cortland, McIntosh, Paula Red, Jersey Mac and more), strolling down one of our trails (while walking with your best friend), and socializing with Sox and Noel (our resident horse and donkey), on our 50 acre farm.
In 1979, we started planting our orchard and have been adding trees each year. Today, we have 1500 semi-dwarf trees, which means ladders are not necessary to pick the apples. Jasper Apple Farm was started by Lorna and Bill Bayes after long careers in teaching. They enjoyed the new challenges, experiences and especially their repeat customers, with many becoming friends.
We have fresh picked Paulared apples, Dolgo crabapples, apple cider and Red Russian garlic to start the season. We now have our Cortland apples ready for picking as well as our dig your own Chrysanthemums and sunflower bouquets ready for purchase. Heritage tomatoes coming soon. Our own fresh garlic is also available for purchase. Late September or early October our pumpkins will be ready. Below is a picture of our Cortland apples.
